A perfect day for a Viking dog, curly onions, sweet and acidic cucumbers, delicious taste of a house made 'relish' (I know it's called something else, but I don't want to take the name of it....yes the photo couldn't wait, I had to take a bite... I'm positively a hot dog like you're getting somewhere else.
Oh, my God. My wife and I visited this place after reading some good things about it and they were absolutely right. The pastries are absolutely fresh and tasty, the gentleman was very friendly and explained everything on the menu and its various ingredients. The coffee was made perfectly and everything was very good value. For less than $15, I was able to get each pastry on the menu and a hot drink for my wife and me. If you are in the area of Vernon, please visit and support you. This place is really a diamond in the rough.
On a day through this inconvenient house on the side of the road, what a serendipitous find! I spoke to the owner, a very sweet, Swedish older gentleman. Because of Covid, they are only open for lawn pickup on Saturday and Sunday. He had polishing hot dogs and flavored coffees, but the real treat was the homemade almond cake!!! It is worth getting a feeling for the local atmosphere.
Always friendly service. I've been coming here for past 10 years maybe. Also, as the other customers, I had the same feeling walking g in he place not expecting such a good atmosphere. Nice place to read a book, talk to locals and out-of-towners and a few over-seares (I know, tongue twisting one, folks from across Atlantic ocean). I love the fact that this place does not have the yapy box (TV) and people actually TALK TO EACH OTHER. I have to admit I'm not crazy for almond cringle but cinnamon buns are favourite with me, loaded with cardamom seeds Happy, Happy, Happy. Gravlax (Scandinavian way made lox) is the best I've ever had when in season. Always looking forward to Viking Festival in the fall held outdoors
