Checkers Bar & Grill - Vernon

4 of us went for dinner last evening at Don Cherrys. We ordered two appetizers and half priced wings. After 30 minutes of waiting for onion rings and calamari (with only 4 other tables in the restaurant) we decided to cancel our appetizers as we feared we would not want all of our food at the same time. We asked how our food was doing as a table who came in after us already had their food. The server and manager seemed dumb-founded. The manager came over and apologized that it was taking long and offered 25% off. But overall is took 1 hour to get food- which we finally asked to put in a to go container. If you want good service- go somewhere else!

Went into Don Cherry's with my wife after work too go have a few beer and snacks and watch The Toronto Blue Jays game it was a Friday and they had it on the big screen there was at least 10 tables watching the game when this older guy/manager goes and changes the game too women s hockey during the 4 th inning because a couple women asked him too this was the most disrespectful thing I've seen A guy in in a sports bar do I got my cheque and paid and we left immediately I will never as long as I live step foot in that place again and before that we went in there at least twice a week so if u wanna go watch a game beware of the creepy skirt chaser running the place !!

This bar is set in the Vernon Lodge hotel, they changed the name to Don Cherrys, good food,sevice is good

The service was excellent, with a good selection of drinks. The menu offered a variety of options, but the food was not impressive. The atmosphere on game day was extremely loud.

This is a pub and we were there to have a late evening dessert as Branches in the Atrium was closed. The server was very nice, delivered our dessert and after dinner drinks with a smile. Who would have known that the pub would have access to the dessert menu in the hotel restaurant? It was delicious and hit the spot as it had been a long day...........
