I have had luxury of visiting and touring about 15 to 20 ancient castles in Europe, mostly in ruins, they were interesting too but nothing beats how this brings back that nostalgia but also us exquisite and comfortable at same time! Plus it's close to city, horse tracks, good restaurants, beautiful countryside, everything, but beautiful grounds themselves, and great place on it own! This was design with perfection in mind. When I was in Europe I recall the round staircases being so small, tight, and stairs so narrow I'd never be able to imaging a knight in armor trying to run down them even without armor to defend their castle but expect I would have got stuck. But not so here. Go enjoy it if you can, it's worth it!
Came here yesterday for the 10:30 a.m. tour and had Corban as our tour guide. My mom and I paid for the castle and the farm tour, which was $40 per person. There were another two people in our group who came from Indiana, while my mom and I are from Texas (plenty of people visit this castle from all over the U.S. . The small group made paying attention to the tour easier and had plenty of time to take pictures around the castle and the farm. There was so much history from this castle, from its inception, the time it was forgotten, and the changing of owners to its current owners. If there were no change in ownership of this castle, we--not part of the 1% riches of the richest would not be able to step into this property. But since 2017, eating here in their restaurant has been possible, grabbing a drink in their cocktail bar, checking out the farm, buying produce directly from them, and even booking a hotel room or renting our farmhouse, the cabins, or the two tiny homes.I highly recommend seeing this castle as it is unique in Kentucky and has an exciting history to listen to and experience while you have yourself as a guest here. When you take a chance here, I hope you have a great time as I did.
I don 't have the vocabulary for how phenomenal it all was. I am bias as I had dreamt of going behind the gates since I was a young child. I would gladly stay again and pay more for an even more extravagant suite if possible. The food was glorious, and the bartenders bent over backwards to provide the absolute best libations.Noteworthy details: I feel like it 's a very fight club topic so I shan 't say....but the details...I cried...
Looking for a once in a lifetime experience, book a room at the Kentucky Castle. The staff is wonderful, they make you feel so special. The grounds are spectacular. The sunset from the roof top was amazing. We booked the executive Terrace Suite. Very spacious room with a door to a deck and connecting stairs to the roof top. We also had a reservation for dinner. Exceptional service the food presentation, quality and flavors were perfect. A must stay if visiting Kentucky! We will be back.Food drinks: The restaurant, bar offers amazing food and drinks. My espresso martini was delicious.
We stayed in one of the wall towers. Room was really cool. We ate 2 nights at the restaurant inside the castle. Best food I've had. I had the short ribs. We also got messages at the spa wich was wonderful. There is the farm as well you can walk through and see the garden and animals.
