We were four and all opted for the Emerald Menu (the middle one). CHF 200 per head for lovely conversation and decidedly average...food. There was nothing remarkable in the food. At all. Starters (cucumber salad, spring rolls, assorted average dim sum) contained nothing to pleasantly surprise the palate. Main courses (seabass w ginger, beef basil stir fry, Szechuan chicken), were all average. Just large piles of meat with unassuming sauces. I have a Cantonese friend who is a great cook, so maybe I am spoiled, but she cooks circles around what Franck Xu served us that night. Decor was dramatic, but very dark. Service was very good, but fell shy of great because it was difficult to understand what we were being served. Definitely not a language issue, but definitely not helped by masked servers.
Good Chinese food. No serious complaints, but this is not a Michelin star quality restaurant. Food was good quality, but nothing was outstanding, and the service was good but with a few errors. Definitely not worth the price.
Probably I had too high expectations, but… 1 The dishes were just... OK. And definitely not corresponding to Mechlin standards: Several dishes from the menu were not available; Food was fresh, but rather mediocre. Boring recipes. Big piece of plastic packing in sorbet....2 The service was literally awful for the restaurant of such price level: No one met us at the entrance. We were just standing stupidly, ignored by all waiters, until we finally entered to catch at least someone. We booked a table, but the waiters tried to put us under the worse available table, under the broken umbrella. It was literally dangerous to sit under it, as the broken metallic stick of umbrella was swinging in the wind. Why didn 't waiters notice that? Why did they want to put us at the worse table, while another table was free? A table was served for 5 (while we booked for 3 , and waiters didn’t even manage to remove the excessive tableware correctly: finally we missed napkins. The waiters didn’t wish to listen for the order till the end. They were trying to run away literally in the middle of our sentences. We had to ask waiters to change dirty plates after the starters (and no, it’s not their “eco friendliness”, since they did change plates after the tiny “amuse bouche”. No one served drinks in time. He had to do it ourselves during the entire meal. Half of the waiters were not smiling, looked angry (and didn’t want to listen . In the past, this restaurant used to serve small desserts with the coffee. Not any more. We had to ask waiters to bring us “some small biscuit”. The big piece of plastic in sorbet… well, here they were really lucky that we took the situation with a laughter. Some other clients (especially those who came with kids!!! would have been right to start a scandal. 3 Atmosphere: No possibility to sit inside, because that day they simply decided that everyone should sit outside; Too many tables per square meter; Please be prepared that your smoking neighbours will be too close to you and your kids, so no way to avoid passive smoking. As a result: big disappointment. Doesn’t worth time money. There are much better restaurants in Geneva
Eating is very well prepared, but no surprises except dessert, which was amazing. what I mean is that, for example, early rolling are delicious, but they are still early rolling (same family of cheap Chinese restaurants in their neighboring). service. is excellent and the place wonderful.
We had a booking for 7 in the tse fung that we all rejoiced as we know the restaurant and like it very much. Unfortunately, our evening meal has proved to be a very bad experience. the service was very bad, it looked like there was no maître in the night and the servers ran around like headless chicken. a very long time between our starting and main course. when we asked a taxi to take back the 2 youths who were with us, we had to wait for 45 minutes to advise that no taxi would answer. diverse enough when we called from our handys, we immediately have one. we had to wait 35 minutes to get our second bottle wein. wein and/or water was not served when the glasses were empty. eating was ok, although pecking ente reached our table in medium temperature and pfancakes were cold. due to poor service, no success, no taxi etc., we decided to leave after the completion of the main course. when we asked about the bill and told the server that we were unhappy, he simply replied, I don't know any understanding, no excuse. that was one of my favorite restaurants in the city, but I will certainly not visit again soon. definitiw not recommended in sunset evenings, if probably most employees on holiday.
