I first went to the Sitar when it was at Port Elliot more than 25 years ago and I kept going back on a very regular basis, in fact every time we went to our shack at nearby Goolwa. After returning to the Victor Harbor region after living interstate for almost 20 years I spotted Sitar and wanted to see if it was run by the original owners and if the food was as good as it had always been. Happy to report yes to both and that the food was even better than I remembered. Sitar operates more of a takeaway outlet although there are several tables for people to dine in. Serves are enormous, in fact so big that two of us each gets three meals out of two main courses and a side dish. It is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to, including Singapore and India. The value is incredible and the food unsurpassed.

As in previous years we ordered takeaway dinner by phone several times during a recent holiday here. Friendly service, excellent quality food and great value. Still cash only. Can eat in but really only a take away place.

Came on this little gem by accident .we seemed to be the only patrons but the meal was delicious and just what we needed.
