Near the beach, on a quiet perpendicular street, we found absolute calm and 3 or 4 tables set outside in a charming, slightly bohemian chaos. The owner, a New Zealander who decided to venture into cooking, serves simple and delicious beach lunch dishes or sandwiches, such as the excellent squid. This place is unassuming but perfect for its location, and the kindness of the "owner" makes you want to stay a while.
Stumbled across this cafe while on a day drive from Mackay, what a gem. Freshly battered fish and tasty chips. We had Mackerel and it was some of the nicest fish I've ever had.
My husband was very impressed with the Gallette de la Mer.
This restaurant is a nice location to stop at, but it's unfortunately not the best place to eat. The food is decent, as it seems like they just bought it from the bakery nearby. The crepes are just okay, nothing special.
