I usually don’t write reviews but sometimes the services is so good that you are compelled to do so. I ordered 25 lbs of coffee for my business which was giving us a problem with the coffee maker that we use (Bunn). The coffee basket would “bloom” or run over during brewing making my order unusable. I called Finger lakes Coffee Rosters and explained the problem. I spoke with Bonnie who expressed concern and empathy for the issue and set forth to correct the problem immediately. She explained that she felt there was an issue with the coarseness of the grind and would send out a new shipment. Within two days I had received a new shipment with the correct level of grind and a return postage paid shipment receipt to send back the coffee that would not work in our brewer. Service like this is old fashioned and greatly appreciated such service should be the hallmark of every wholesaler/retailer today and should be recognized. Thank you Finger Lakes Coffee Rosters and Thank you Bonnie! Great Coffee, Great Selection, Great Service!
I travel to Rochester often, and my usual stop for coffee is Tim Horton 's at the travel plaza east of Canandaigua. I decided I wanted instead to give my money to a local business and have a more interesting coffee experience this morning. So, I went off the Thruway 15 minutes out of my way to try FLCR. As a resident of the Finger Lakes, I 'd had their coffee before but it never really made an impression.. So, I was looking forward to the experience. I walked in and there is country music blasting... Not a hipster vibe.: There was a crowd of old-timers in a corner having their morning klatch, which was great. I love an inviting neighborhood coffee shop, even though this is in a strip mall. I could read the sign that lists roasts available today but the names don 't say much about the product, so I asked the counter person what they have available, hoping it 'd be obvious that I 'm not familiar with their product. She answered by stepping aside so I could read the signs on the coffee pumps. Great! I asked what their lighter blend is. She replied Lake Blend . So I ordered that. it wasn 't until I got myself back on the Thruway that I took my first sip. I have never had a weaker cup of coffee outside of a diner or a hospital situation. Even (especially a light blend, when brewed properly, should have a flavorful profile and provide a full coffee experience. That should be the expectation at a coffee roaster, right? If I had taken a sip before I pulled out, I think I would 've brought it back and requested another flavor. The service was quite impersonal and businesslike and it was obvious the counter person wasn 't really clued in. Do ya even drink this stuff? The one saving grace was the medium 16oz cup only cost $1.95. I might have paid twice that for a really good cup, though. I had hoped to add a scone or muffin to my coffee order but the selection was limited, didn 't look appetizing, wrapped in plastic film--never a good sign. I will say that the experience is particularly disappointing to me especially because they do roast and wholesale coffee. Why bother roasting when the coffee is made so weak so that the flavor is imperceptible?
Coffee is high quality and they know how to make milk drinks pretty well. Baked goods are also tasty. A great coffee pit stop if you are driving through.
I usually do not write reviews, but sometimes the services are so good that you are forced to do so. I ordered 25 liters of coffee for my business, which gives us a problem with the coffee machine we use (Bunn). The coffee basket would “bloom” or overflow during brewing and make my order unusable. I called Finger Lakes Coffee Roster and explained the problem. I spoke to Bonnie, who expressed concern and empathy for the topic and pointed out to correct the problem immediately. She explained that she felt there was a problem with the roughness of the loop and would send out a new show. Within two days I had received a new delivery with the correct amount of loop and paid a return shipping confirmation to return the coffee that would not work in our brewery. Service like this is old-fashioned and highly appreciated such service should be the license plate of every wholesaler/trader today and be recognized. Thank you Finger Lakes Kaffee Rosters and thank you Bonnie! Great coffee, great selection, great service!
