The cold beer at this restaurant was fantastic, but unfortunately the lukewarm pizza wasn't as impressive. I was shocked to see all of the pizza toppings left out on the counter without being refrigerated. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for years, this is a major violation of health codes. Despite this, the interior of the restaurant was appealing and the atmosphere was relaxed. The service was friendly but forgettable. I would definitely return for the beer, but I would skip the pizza.
I like the pizza and the atmosphere, but the last few times I've been in I've encountered pretty rude service at the front counter mostly by one of the young women that works there. The last time was actually the last time I'll go in...because of that. There are better places to spend my money and relax after work.
Slow, slow service. We stood at the counter behind people and ended up standing there for nearly minutes. The girl on the till was grabbing slices and making drinks by herself, whilst the two other staff members ignored both her and the growing...line of customers behind us. The girl must have been new, which is the only reason I gave this place my patience and two stars. By the time we got to the counter there was barely anything left and nobody had thought to refresh the pizzas. Seriously, what were the other two staff doing?! All that was left were a couple of soggy cold pizza slices. We asked if there were more coming but we didn’t really have time to wait much longer. The actual pizza might have been good if it was remotely hot. Why would you leave pizza behind an open counter with no heat lamp?! The vibe of the place is cool, towards the back it’s almost like a brick veranda. Sadly, we will not be returning. There are way too many other places in Victoria that have their act together. If you’re looking for a quick slice of pizza, it’s worth the walk to The Joint on Wharf Street. Way better quality and they always ask if you want it heated.
We are visiting Victoria and discovered this restaurant near our accommodation. Pleasantly surprised. Pizza is excellent. We learned that on Saturdays when you present your ticket stub from the adjacent Odeon Theatre you only pay for two generous slices.
