This is the best place in Victoria for noodles. The coconut chicken is amazing!
My spouse affectionately calls this restaurant her favorite noodle spot. I believe all the noodles are made in-house and they also sell them for cooking at home. The spicy Shanghai wontons are amazing, packed with flavor and a nice kick. The dan dan mein is also delicious, with well-seasoned meat. While I have been searching for great tan tan dan dan in Victoria, I haven't found it yet, but I must say that I Kyu offers a tasty interpretation that I would order again. The ramen is simple, as they don't specialize in it specifically. I have noticed some negative reviews regarding the flavor, which makes me wonder if these reviewers opted for milder dishes or if my menu selections were just lucky. I personally enjoy the subtle spiciness and hint of chili oil in everything, reminiscent of dishes from Sichuan restaurants in Vancouver. The small menu at this place offers unique Chinese dishes that are anything but ordinary. The owner is friendly and the young girl who serves is hard-working. It's a cozy spot that's usually not too crowded, and I have visited a few times during my time in Victoria. I wish them all the best.
The handcrafted noodles at this restaurant are excellent, perfectly cooked to al dente. It's one of the top spots in town for ramen, with a broth that is a delicious blend of flavors. My personal favorite is the spicy shrimp noodle salad.
