It is by all means not a fancy restaurant but the locals were eating here so we knew the food should be decent. And it was! the one waitress was very busy as a large family entered after we did bit she did well in handling the crowd. Again, if you eat here its about the food and not the ambiance.
I was hoping for authentic Chinese food when I stopped in this restaurant while the rest of the fam were shopping. I ordered a spring roll, Ma Po Tofu with a side of rice (extra charge...not included with the tofu. . The spring roll was greasy beyond compare, and I had to sop up the grease with two napkins. The large serving of tofu was visually appealing, but the sauce was so salty that any other flavor was overruled. I hope this wasn’t an example of “authentic.”
Delicious food. We do take out. Food is always hot fresh and good sized portions. Our faves are chicken chow mein, beef&brocolli, chicken chop suey, and breaded almond chicken. Prices are about $15-$20 per dish.
Two couples (one fluent in Mandarin and English) for dinner on a very busy Saturday night. Fast and efficient service: servers had excellent English and Mandarin.Large menu. The meal was excellent: we had six dishes and all were good with three that stood out: Szechuan ginger and pepper beef, Szechan stir fried chicken and an eggplant dish. The beef hotpot was also both hot and excellent. Simply excellent authentic Szechuan dishes cooked to order. We will come again.
Authentic flavors, many locals, generous portions. We greatly appreciated finding this quaint Chinese gem after visiting another Chinese cafe that didn't represent Chinatown at all.
