Considering the lack of halal options in Victoria, Sizzling Tandoor is a great option fordinner, right in downtown, on the border of Chinatown. Ordered was: chicken tandoori on a sizzling plate chicken cashewkorma w/ rice potato stuffed naan In general, the meal was delicious. Portions were quite generous, especially the tandooriwhich can be hard to find in some restaurants. Spice level of the food corresponded to what was ordered. I particularly enjoyedthe cashew korma which was creamy and nutty, lots of big pieces of chicken. I?ve visited previously and I remember theirnon alcoholic drinks to be fantastic. I also appreciate that their menu isn?t 10 pages long ???? Decor isbeautiful! Downsides: naan was a bit burned on each side music a tad too loud (personally found it to be)
No real experience to share. I'm in town for the BC 55+ Games and after the opening ceremonies I was wandering around downtown and decided to drop in to order some food. I seated myself opposite the bar in plain view and for the next 15 minutes the waitstaff did an excellent job of ignoring my presence. They walked past me multiple times without once acknowledging I was eventhere. I finally got up and left.
Such good food!! Huge portions, lovely service, great cocktails, and delicious food. Highly recommend the Saag Paneer!!
We wanted to have something simple Indian food. We ordered Chana bhature and it was simply delicious. Taste was awesome. Service was good. Music was too loud to enjoy conversation. Tables has some sticky wax and was difficult to put hands on the table. But4 stars for food taste and service
Although the cashew chicken korma was tasty, the naan bread was either way overcooked and crispy or was stale. I love fresh naan as it compliments curry beautifully when done right. It was also my first time trying the mango chutney and kheer. The mangochutney was extremely vinegary; it's all I tasted. I couldn't eat more than one bite from it. If this is how chutney is supposedto taste, then please ignore this. The kheer, however, was quite pleasant and delicious
