Our server was fantastic! She patiently answered all our questions about the menu so we could choose the right dishes for the two young children with us. Every entree we ordered was delicious. I had the Monterey Special, which featured tender young goat—so good that my 5-year-old granddaughter kept asking for more bites! The margaritas were excellent, and the Mariachi band was incredibly talented. Having two of them come to our table to perform two songs completely captivated our grandkids, who are 1 and 5 years old. Considering it was St. Patrick's Day and the place was packed, the server, chef, and kitchen staff did an outstanding job with every aspect of our dining experience. This restaurant is definitely a "must-visit" in San Antonio!
Mi Tierra is open 24 hours a day, and you can enjoy breakfast all day long. The food is excellent, and the service is friendly. But don’t forget to check out the Bakery in the foyer! They offer an incredible variety of baked goods. We love picking out a few to enjoy in our hotel in the evening.
This charming yet authentic Mexican restaurant and bakery is a fantastic spot to dine at the Market in San Antonio. It offered us the best value throughout the weekend. We were impressed by the outstanding michelada and fantastic salsa, and our food arrived piping hot. A delightful surprise was the mariachi who performed "Las Mañanitas" for my daughter's birthday. After such a wonderful meal, we couldn’t resist grabbing some tasty treats from the bakery to take home, featuring classic panadería items like conchas, empanadas, and buñuelos, along with some more elaborate pastries. The atmosphere was lively and festive, and the food delivered excellent value, especially given the location.
We stopped by on a Saturday around lunch time. We had to wait about an hour, but we were able to roam around the market while we waited. The food was delicious with a lot of options available. Their service was a little slow, but the restaurant was full. They make their own tortillas which is always a plus in my book. *Pro tip: your waitress can get pastries for you so you can avoid having to wait In that line. Trust me, do this because that line is VERY slow.
