I have lived in the High Desert for 25 years but had never tried this restaurant I actually only went this time because El Pescador's shut down BUT I was happy I did! I was having a little lunch for a group of high school graduates at my church and wanted Mexican. I ordered a dozen beef and chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, chips and salsa. The girls enjoyed the meal as did I. Sorry, I forgot the pictures. I called in the order and it was ready in about 15-20 min. Staff were friendly and so were the customers. I will return and try some of their other menu items. Lost a star because the ATM machine was tripping and it caused a delay. I was in a hurry as the girls were waiting for me.
I have lived in the High Desert for 17 years and today I finally tried La Casita (Palmdale). We ordered *Bean cheese burrito (add ground beef) and asked for no sour cream as the menu says the burritos come with, waitress said it doesn't come with sour cream....and it came with no cheese and very soggy *2 shrimp tacos these were ok *French fries soggy and no salt *Half order of nachos What we went home with was a container of soggy triangular tortilla pieces on top of a bed of refried beans and ground beef in a red sauce poured over and nothing else. There was not a crispy nacho in the tray. They seemed like nice people but We just didn't enjoy our meal.
Tried to call but their phone was off the hook used to love this place! But now can't stand it due to the fact the owner is rude ! Does not know how to treat customers ! Don't bother buying the shrimp cocktails you will only get bunch of juice and about five shrimps! If you must go there the burrito is great love it but today I happen to find a hair and I'm not even kidding last time I will ever go there to the owner I hope you read this I know you know who we are. One last thing if you're ordering to go you have to pay for chips and the salsa separate they don't tell you that and it's not on the menu !
Older man who I assume is the manager is very rude and cuts you off when trying to ask a question. Lady who packed our to go order was also rude. My daughter asked for 2 orders of chips and salsa, and we would pay for one. Because one is free with the meals, and she said my daughter never asked for 2. I was sitting next to her when she asked! I will stick to the Hesperia one! Much nicer people!
Excellent place for Mexican food. Everything is delicious and not beaten or even hidden. If I was in San Diego (at the border of Mexico, and where I live) I would go to Mexico if it was local! The ingredients are good (which is very important when ordering meat because bad meat is coarse) And the atmosphere is wonderful and beautiful. There are so many authentic decorations to see and it is so colorful that you get a real taste of Mexico and able to forget where you are for a bit, what of course a large part why we want to go to eat first is not it. As a final touch, the serving staff, if friendly and humble, which is so important to have a relaxing time.
