Casa Do Lau - Vila Nova De Cerveira

Travelled down from Vigo to Portugal with my girlfriends family. We were looking to go for lunch and decided to try here as her uncle who lives in Vigo heard it was good. Tbh the food was just ok but the service was terrible and the waiter very rude. To start with we were handed 1 menu between 7 of us and took ages before the order was taken. After our meal we ordered another couple of beers and 1 of course mine didn 't arrive. We asked for the bill and waited over 20 minutes before asking again to be told by the waiter it 's getting sorted, what are you in a hurry or something? People have to wait half hour, sometimes an hour for there bill not the way to speak to paying customers with that attitude. They must think they 're special cause they 've got a good reputation. I get that it was busy but its quite pricey compared to other places and you expect to at least be treated with a little respect. Needless to say we won 't be back.

We had lunch here: I tried the octopus, which was delicious and generously served. My family had meat, some had codfish à Maria José , and said it was delicious (beware in case you don 't eat meat: they put ham in the codfish dish). Extensive choice of wines. As a starter we asked for the cheese+ham plate, which was disappointing (the only low point of the meal). Friendly staff.

I had been a regular customer at Casa LAU, but after a long absence I returned to this restaurant and found the manager employee to be so rude and obnoxious I could not believe my eyes. The service was bad, the food was not what it used to be and the bill was full price when I asked for half portions! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I advised some business men and wine connoisseurs to eat there; and they too said NEVER AGAIN, the octopus was like eating rubber.

Bom ambiente, para um almoço ou jantar diferente.

Amplio y cómodo salón aunque en veranito comer/cenar en la terraza exterior tiene que ser un puntazo El bacalao genial, lo probamos en dos de las opciones que tienen en carta y estaba buenísimo. El chambao de borrego aprobado y prescindible, de repetir probariamos otra opción cárnica del menú. Pegadito a Vilanova da Cerveira, buena posibilidad para llenar el buche si se está por la zona.
