I particularly enjoy fried clam strips, and I'm not saying this just because Weebs is conveniently located down the street from me or out of a desire to support local businesses. These fried clams are honestly the best I’ve ever had. I’ve tried fresh ones in Maine and sampled various offerings from dairy bars and diners, but these are my favorite. I always order the clam strips dinner, which includes a small cup of coleslaw and a good portion of fries. The serving of clams is substantial, not just a few pieces, and the quality is excellent—no chewiness or gumminess to be found. And the batter? It’s incredibly crispy and never greasy; you can tell they regularly change their oil, as they should! Just a note about the clams: these are clam strips, not whole belly clams (which I personally dislike). The fries are tasty, and the onion rings are absolutely fantastic—make sure to order a large! They’re perfectly cut, and the batter is delicious as well. The cheese steaks are huge and satisfying, and the burgers are great. The chicken poppers are just average, typical frozen options, but they’re there to cater to picky eaters like me. The staff is wonderfully friendly and accommodating, as it’s a family-run operation. While the wait for food can be a bit longer, it’s because everything is made fresh to order. Don’t walk in expecting a meal for a family of four to come out in just ten minutes. It’s usually busy, especially during Lent, which is a smart move since they’re only open on Friday nights in the spring (and now summer) in this largely Catholic town. A busy restaurant is always a good sign. The place is quite small, so it leans more towards takeout rather than sit-down dining, but sitting outside at the picnic tables is nice when the weather permits. We also enjoy playing with the functioning jukebox! And to the person who mentioned the secret donuts—if you're fortunate enough to be there when they have them, wow, they are incredible! My boyfriend claims they might be the best cider donuts he’s ever had, and I might just agree! They have the perfect balance of being soft inside and crispy outside, just like everything else they fry, with no greasy aftertaste. Often, they’re fresh out of the fryer and still warm! What a gem this little place is! I truly hope they continue to thrive. They’ve already reached the five-year mark, which is quite a milestone for Hoosick Falls! Everyone needs to give Weebs a try!
The lobster roll (I had the cold version) is hands down the best I’ve ever tasted! It features generous chunks of lobster paired with the perfect mayo sauce and finely chopped cucumber. I highly recommend it, but be warned—you'll find yourself wanting to go back for more!
The best fish chowder I've ever tasted, and the fish fry was also outstanding. I will definitely return!
The fish fry I had might just be the best I've ever tasted. The cornmeal batter was applied with just the right amount of thickness, resulting in a perfectly crispy and dry exterior that wasn’t greasy at all. The fish itself was juicy, flaky, and packed with flavor. The staff, along with the other patrons, contributed to the charm of this place. They were incredibly friendly, making us feel as though we were long-time residents of their small town. Plus, there’s a classic jukebox that plays records, which adds an extra touch to the atmosphere. My wife and I are definitely planning to return many times. And here's a little secret: we hear they serve donuts on certain mornings!
