Traditions - Village of Lawrence

Came out to far rockaway to visit some relatives and went out after with my wife.Wow am I impressed. We were seated right away. The waiter D. gave us time to review the menu. No rushing. We had some questions and he was able to answer them like he was the chef. He new the menu and didn't hesitate to recommend one item over another.The table gets set the old fashion way with a large bowl of Cole slaw and a bowl of half sour and sour pics. (I miss this in the new age restaurants)The apps came out really quick and was extremely surprised with the amount of food they give.The mains came out soon after the apps were finished. Again the food was outstanding and the portion sizes were large.Would have loved to have had dessert but we where STUFFED.I highly recommend this restaurant.And yes they do in house catering. We enjoyed a private party at Traditions, the food was excellent.

Food is very good. Clean neat restaurant with traditional deli type ambiance. Wait staff at times overwhelmed. Dietary restrictions: Kosher. Kid-friendliness: Atmosphere is perfect for a family dinner.

The prices are super affordable at Traditions, but Pastrami was a bit fatty and not served warm enough and the Brisket was ok but not the richest flavor by any means compared to other delis I've had. French fries, soup, Burgers, salads and steaks were awesome. Traditions could stop being lazy and have gluten free wraps they are next door to a kosher super market) for customers that have gluten dietary restrictions.
