Cajun Catfish Buffet - Ville Platte

The food was excellent, although some dishes were quite spicy. There was a wide variety of options, ensuring that everyone could find something they liked. The peach cherries were a bit dry, and the shrimp could have been left out, but everything else was perfect. I'm usually not a fan of catfish because I often find it tastes earthy, but this time I didn't detect that flavor at all, making for a pleasant surprise. Overall, the meal was very delicious. However, the service left something to be desired. Our server, who resembled a twin of Anjelica Huston, was very nice and attentive, assisting us with everything we needed without hovering like some other waiting staff do. If I lived in Louisiana, I would definitely make this place a regular stop.

We traveled about 1.5 hours to try this restaurant after seeing ads on Facebook. After a long wait of nearly two hours, we finally got a table, only to find that getting crab legs was a real challenge. Diners were lined up at the end of the buffet, eagerly waiting for the refills of snow crabs, and some even piled their plates so high that it was chaotic. While this behavior reflects more on the customers than the restaurant itself, I have to say that everything I tried from the buffet was delicious. Would we return? Probably not anytime soon, especially if we can't get to the snow crabs, which were the main attraction for us!

I attended crab night and found the food to be delicious. However, I was quite disappointed that I couldn’t get any Dungeness crab because they had run out. Additionally, there was a little boy at the buffet who started collecting food as soon as a snow crab was put out. He grabbed as much as he could to take back to his table. When they left, they left behind several full plates of shrimp and crab that he had taken for them, but it seemed they never bothered to eat it.

Good place to eat. Not as bad as many make it to be. Good selection of boiled and fried seafood. The seasons are moderate...and made to satisfy all in general... not only the picky that has to have it over the top. The selection and prices are appropriate. Just eat what you enjoy and don't touch what you don't want. I would definitely come back! Good stuff!
