A very first time for us. A pretty little inn, very flowery and very romantic. A weekend menu at 29 euros starter, main course, cheese AND dessert. Everything was delicious, very well cooked and plentiful. I had never seen fly swatters available to customers so as not to be disturbed by intruders. What a rich idea, simple and terribly effective. The owner of the place welcomes you warmly and his collaborators at the service were very pleasant and helpful. Our taste buds appreciated each dish we had chosen. Villiers s/ Suize is a few kilometers from Chaumont, you have time, so take the detour. Little advice from the master of the place, call to book.
This is a friendly inn in a lovely village... not far from the motorway but it makes a real change from the standard offer of the chain hotels. Room was in a separate building about 25 metres from the main building and restaurant. Our meal was excellent with a good house white wine. Generous breakfast.
We had a delicious evening meal in this restaurant and were served by very friendly and accommodating staff. The menu was four courses for 29 Euros with a limited selection of food (about 4 or 4 choices for each course. We had ordered lobster and there was not enough to go round so the restaurateur offered us snails which had not been on the the menu. Would recommend, we were the only English people there, the other customers were all French. It was the only restaurant in the village.
We have been many times and the menu can vary in standard. We have had scallops followed by guinea fowl and a rather dull snails followed by entrecôte steak. All was well cooked though.
