One of the best Lithuanian restaurants safe. great service and experience!
World class restaurant, absolutely the best I've been to in Vilnius, and not far away from some of our two Michelin star restaurants in Copenhagen. Great service, great interior and amazing food.
1918 on New Year's Eve was my first tasting menu, and it has set a high bar for future restaurants. Each course was unique, and each was a revelation. I learned a lot about food (and wine) that evening, and it was marvelous to see the work of a chef and his team at the top of their game doing really inspiring dishes. The wine pairings were excellent, and a few of them were really unusual and broadened my palate considerably. The service was flawless, and also deeply hospitable and friendly. Even though this was my first foray into fine dining and I am by no means wealthy, I never felt anything but comfortable and relaxed. I haven't looked to see if 1918 has a star, but if it doesn't, it certainly deserves one!
We discovered Nineteen 18 to be a sophisticated and cutting-edge restaurant of the highest caliber. With an open kitchen and around seven tables in a modern minimalist setting, Nineteen 18 offers a fixed price tasting menu with beverage pairing options in three different categories. The experience lasts about three hours, starting at approximately 18:30 and costing over two hundred euros per person. While there are many excellent restaurants in Vilnius, Nineteen 18 truly stands out as one of the best. Our personal experience was exceptional, from the initial booking process to the attentive service throughout our meal. The staff of about eight people warmly welcomed us, with the chef even personally introducing his kitchen team. The service was impeccable, with every detail explained in perfect English and the staff always there to cater to our needs. The tasting menu, with its innovative dishes and wine pairings, was well thought out and flawlessly executed. Each dish followed a forest theme, with a distinct Lithuanian touch using ingredients sourced from the restaurant's own farm. The presentation and serving of each course were both surprising and impeccable. We opted for the "Curiosity" wine pairing, which complemented the dishes perfectly with a variety of white and red wines, cider, locally brewed beer, and port. Overall, we highly recommend Nineteen 18 for those looking for a unique and memorable dining experience, exceptional service, and innovative cuisine paired with quality beverages.
