Debbie's Seafood - Vine Creek

We visited twice and enjoyed our meal both times. We asked for Coral Trout, it was fresh, delicious, and cooked perfectly. The chips were fresh, hot and crunchy. We recommend it to friends and we hope Debbie's Seafood keeps up the good standard!

By chance we came upon the cafe as we returned from a drive to Mackay Harbour.Its located in an industrial part of Mackay. Busy for a Sunday and you would have to know it was there. Selling a range of drinks and food as well as fresh fish.....local too.We had chips and some fish bits which were delish.Outside dining. Tables and chairs for outside dining were well appointed with a kiddy corner too. Worth a visit

We really wanted to like this place but it was not up to scratch in any way. We had the coral trout and overcooked chips with a sad piece of lettuce and a small piece of lemon. For $7 it would have been overpriced but for $16 it was outrageous. The fish was too small and had been frozen. Not very well cooked. No tartare sauce. We had beautiful fish at iluka and tweed heads for $5 a few weeks ago so were expecting great things from debbie's. We had a crab sandwich afterwards which was ok but the crab was more like tinned than fresh. We won't be going back. Sorry Debbie. The coffees were good.

We really love Debbie's fresh fish and it is basically the only place we buy it...lets get that out in the open straight up.We recently had some crumbed fish from the restaurant for lunch and unfortunately it was way overcooked, dry and almost inedible. Sorry Debbie but the three of had a piece and each was the same. You could see as soon as we opened it by the very dark colour of the crumbing (close to burnt colour). Hopefully it was just a one-off but I must say it will be a long time before we go back for cooked seafood from Deb's. Keep the fresh stuff coming :)

Debbie's seafood has a great new modern location with the addition of Debs fish cafe and out door eating area .We enjoyed fresh battered red throats and my grown up family members had battered red throat on a salad burger and of course delicious chips .Debbie's only has the highest quality of seafood I love that Mackay is privileged to have such high quality seafood .We travel extensively and Debbie's is the best quality we encounter anywhere .Apart from Alaska and their wild salmon !Doing well team Debbie we will be back .
