Calypso Grill - Virginia Beach

The atmosphere at this restaurant is wonderful! The staff is friendly and very attentive. My two young children and I dined there twice for dinner during the holiday. We tried the crabcake sandwich, shrimp tacos, club sandwich, boneless wings, pork nachos, and calamari, all of which were delicious. We also ordered a salad with medium rare boiled tuna, which was slightly overcooked. The mac and cheese was fantastic- so creamy with white cheddar cheese. The mixed drinks were also excellent!

My sister and I visited this restaurant almost every day while on holiday! All of the bartenders were incredible and so friendly. The happy hour deal was fantastic, and we loved the 99 cent oysters. We highly recommend trying their lobster mac and their surf n turf, even though you wouldn't expect a big steak from a seafood restaurant. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious, as were their sweet potato fries. We tried so many other dishes and loved them all! Don't miss out on this place!

The food was good and we enjoyed being on the ozean. what we didn't enjoy was the live band that played so loud that they gave us a headache and the fact that they weren't just loud - they were terrible. fun if they were ditching the band.

This place was so disorganized. Now I can understand it being busy but everyone was just focused on their current task at hand and nothing else. We basically serviced ourselves. The first hostesses said we needed to see another hostess to be seated. After getting drinks from the bar we walked over to the other stand but no one was at the stand when we got there so we walked around sat down at an open table which was hard to find because most of them said reserved. We watched for about 15 minutes as the same thing happened to many others. After going back asking the process again just be clear, I ended up just going to the bar and ordering food. That bartending was the only attentive person we encountered there all night. A bus boy even came by our table a few times and on the last time took our untouched plates and utensils. This places gets 3 stars because the pulled pork sandwiches we got were amazing, even though we wanted wings, they were out. And the music was good.

This was my first time here, and I will definitely be returning back soon!! Food was great, atmosphere was great and customer service was superb!!!!! I can't wait to make a second visit!!!
