Jumbo Chinese - Virginia Beach

Just moved to town and hate having to start over with the best places to eat. Let me tell you, Jumbo Chinese Restaurant truly earned five stars. One of the best Happy Family meals I've had in a long time. Highly recommend you give them a try.

I decided to give this restaurant a try since it’s just five minutes from my workplace and it had good reviews. Unfortunately, the food was some of the most watery and flavorless Chinese cuisine I’ve ever tasted. It might be a decent choice for someone who is health-conscious and seeking a low-sodium option. I ordered shrimp and broccoli along with some wings. The wings were soft and fried, and the shrimp sauce was quite bland. I rated it three stars solely because the food was served hot and the service was friendly. I would only recommend this place if you're looking for a healthier alternative to typical Chinese restaurants.

This iconic American Chinese restaurant in Kempsville has been a staple since the Lincoln administration. I remember seeing kids working in the kitchen years ago, and now those kids have grown up. The food is excellent, the prices are unbeatable, and you won't find better Chinese takeout for at least fifteen miles. The lunch specials are generous, packed with pork fried rice. My go-to dish is the pork egg foo young, but everything on the menu is fantastic. The only downside is that they're closed on Mondays. Overall, you can't go wrong with this amazing neighborhood gem.
