We had a great server the night before, but the hostess this morning seemed uninterested and tried to seat us too closely to other parties without giving us personal space. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and frankly rude. If you're willing to spend $100-120 for dinner here, it can be worth it when it's not busy. However, if there are more than 10 customers in the restaurant, be wary.
My girlfriend and I waited for about 30 minutes before someone finally noticed us. In the meantime, one of the managers was standing nearby but didn't say a word to us.
A VERY uneven dining experience. Touted as the areas only 4 Diamond award winning steakhouse in the area (FYI its now listed as a 3 on AAA website) you expect cutting edge cuisine, fanciful cocktails and a curated, well inventoried wine list. What we got was NOT that. SERVICE: Our waiter was fine. He was personable, friendly and helpful. Management however left him hanging when there were not 1 but 2 issues, both relating to wine during our meal (more info to follow). Both times our waiter had to apologize for wine menu and service issues despite it not being his fault, a manager or better yet the sommelier would be more apt to deal with wine issues yet none ever showed. DRINKS: I was given their wine list, picked out a bottle and was presented a different vintage than the one on the list. I understand vintages can be substituted however the two vintages were vastly different in quality add that to the fact you have an electronic wine list and the error never should have happened. Despite the issue, I accepted the bottle and we proceeded on with our meal. The restaurant also had a extensive dessert/port/fortified wine list by the bottle as well... Or so I was lead to believe. Come to find out they will not serve the bottle I requested; only glasses. The point of purchasing the bottle was to have a fresh, not previously opened, non oxidized wine, BTG options don't allow for that. If you cannot offer something, remove it from your electronic and dynamic menu. FOOD: The steaks were great. Well seasoned, cooked appropriately and arrived hot. The sides (creamed spinach and sauteed mushrooms) came devoid of seasoning and arrived lukewarm at best. This is despite the fact the restaurant had us and one other table seated in Salacia and a much less than half full dining room in Catch 31. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Uneven dining experience for something that offered much more.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The crab cakes are amazing. Definitely coming back.
Unbelievable dining experience! Tremendous food outstanding service very relaxed and romantic. We couldn't have asked for a better meal in a better establishment. We have been going to Catch 31 for years, and absolutely Loving it but the Salacia just takes it to the next amazing level. I believe we were actually in the 3rd Heaven for crying out loud....!! Thank you Salacia staff!
