The Driftless Cafe - Viroqua

For years I have heard how wonderful this cafe is. I must have chose the wrong day to go there because my experience was awful. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and when it came out the meat was cold on the outer part of the sandwich and just barely warm more in the center. I ate only a couple bites and sent it back to the kitchen. My wife said the sandwich she ordered was over cooked although the bread was good. My mother ordered the mac n cheese and said it was OK. I appreciate they didn't charge me for my order. What made it awful is the whole time we were eating we had to shoo flies off our food. We never received an offer to replace the meal or apology for the experience. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

I recently had lunch at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The price per person was between $10 and $20, which I found to be quite reasonable for the quality of food and service. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a perfect 5. I highly recommend this place for a delicious meal in a great environment.
