And it is not in downtown Voglans, despite its address, so make that GPS work hard, or just keep a close eye on your map. But it is truly a find if you want to experience what is the quintessential traditional bread – enough to stick to your ribs for the rest of the day. Open from 0700 to 1400, but if you want to ensure that you get a table, and perhaps more importantly can drive away with a baguette, a boule or a couronne of the bread, you should get there well before closing time. Another word to the wise: order your bread early, even before you sit down to enjoy your lunch (there is not much of a menu – basically charcuterie, sausage/diot or cheese, stuffed in one of Vincent’s breads), order your bread to take-away. We noticed that there is a room just to the left as you walk in, where the breads ordered in advance are stacked, but there are some loaves on your right as you come in that are available for purchase – you order those from the bar/counter. There are several rooms with tables for those who want to have a quick lunch. There were a number of trucks and cars parked along the roadway for clients, which must be tolerated but is probably not the best idea in terms of safety, although there is a marked walkway between that side of the road and Vincent’s entrance. It is better to park behind or beside Vincent’s – on the east and north sides. Anyway, a true find that will make you dream of what bread used to be in France.
If you are in area of Lac du Bourget, this is a recommended snack bar located in Voglans. There is sufficient parking space next to the restaurant, a parking lot at 100 m and also on the other site of the road. Staff is very friendly and you can chose a sandwich with one or two diots porc saucages in red wine sauce. Wines are offered by the glass (whites only) or by bottle (red and white). I took the two diots sandwich as well as a glass of local Rousette white wine. Delicious. Note: there is also the possibility to buy giant breads (of 1 kg) produced on site.

If you are visiting Chambery and want to experience the real local bar, boulangerie (Bread only but what a bread) and the traditional Diot (Sausage with oignons) in a french cripy bun.My mouth is watering just thinking about it again….Service is casual, mostly frequented by locals who are called by their first names by the owner and his crew.A good feed, for the money, don't bring a veggie or a calorie conscious person. This place is purely for epicureans.
