The food was delicious! The view was spectacular! $8 Mimosas. If there is no cloud coverage the uncovered seating can be a bit too much. Erin was our server she was really nice and helpful.
Here’s the thing Deck. is highly recommended and was on our list of places to hit when in Honolulu. I just can’t give it 5 stars, though. The food tasted great, but was incredibly overpriced for the portions. I was confused how a $30+ piece of salmon was the same size as a 6 oz portion you buy frozen at the grocery store. Complete rip off, if you ask me. What’s more, every single dish was overly salted. The poke flavor was great, but it was two spoonfuls surrounded by 10 oversized chips. Again, given the price, I was not expecting two spoonfuls. We ordered two appetizers and a main course to split as well as 2 drinks apiece. $150+ later, we weren’t even full. *However, the drinks were incredibly tasty and I do recommend those 9 mai tai mondays If you can come on a weeknight with specials, do that. The bartender is a wizard (as you will see in other reviews).
Photos can be deceiving, the power lines run right next to the balcony. We went for a late lunch which is a limited menu (brunch ends at 2, dinner starts at 4) but during happy hour 2-5. The lilikoi margaritas were refreshing. The menu was bar food, the truffle fries, wings and sliders were pretty good. The salmon katsu was a dry salmon cake which I didn’t enjoy.
This establishment is fortunate to get two stars from me only because an incredible bartender Jessica saved our experience from being completely awful. Food was terrible. Ordered an appie and two main dishes. After long delay all three dishes arrived at the same time cold. Roasted chicken way too over cooked, dry and tough. Cocktails are all $18. While there is an incredibly skilled bartender there Jessica the price is far too high for the establishment. We noticed many ordering alternatives beer or wine still over-priced. There are other better establishments like the Hideout where Cocktails are $14 or less. This placed was so disorganized with many upset customers, covid protocols not followed and a manager who was completely clueless. He was viewed by staff as just getting in the way and not helping and I observed this as well. One bartender was great while the other seemed like it was his first day. The other had to pick up the slack while running the service bar and her own customers. While our attentive bartender took care of the kitchens shortcomings the experience was a complete failure and a $100 we wish we had back .
