Indo Grindz - Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo

After looking at places I wanted to try during our stay in Hilo, I was most excited about eating here and going to the Farmer's Market. Imagine my disappointment when it was pouring rain the day we went to the Farmer's Market, and with the large crowd, there was nowhere covered to eat. If I'd been by myself, I would have just ordered to go, but the rest of my party wanted to sit down somewhere to eat. So we went somewhere else. On our last day in Hilo, I finally made it to Poke N Sides and it was delicious. I had to wait in a line, but it went quickly. There is both a line for burgers and a line for poke. I chose poke. There is a cooler display with all the food and when you get to the counter you choose what kind of bowl you want. I did the 2 choice bowl for $24. I got to choose 2 different types of poke and 2 sides. First time ever trying purple potato salad and I'm in love! I don't remember what else I got, but it was delicious. After ordering and paying for it, I got a buzzer that let me know when my food was ready. The wait was not too long.

Right next to the market with outside seating. Reasonable prices with nice choices. You will need to ask friendly staff for code to the WC. But if you are going to the market this is the place for breakfast or lunch.

Loved the spicy chicken plate. Super fast service. Met the owners at the Waikoloa Saturday Night- super friendly.

The food is good and worth the price. Get a bowl and 2 sides for $14. The burger was cooked right, and the fries are great. All seating is outdoor.
