Food was okay, quite basic for the price they charge, putting a swirl on a plate doesn't make steaming broccoli and frozen peas any flasher. Some food like rhubarb crubble was cold too. Staff can't serve correctly, reaching over table to clear or serve, stacking plates on the table etc More gluten free and dairy free options would be appreciated.
Have been several times before but change if owners and really disappointed last week Nice surroundings and good service but...we ordered 2 Eye fillet steaks..got Scotch Fillet and quite tough...not rested. Entre of beerbattered Oysters were bread crumbed! And Entre of Pate was nice but very small serving So value was quite expensive.... We eat out alot on the Coast... Will prob not go again
Wow. This restaurant is absolutely stunning and well maintained. The food is delicious, and the cafe itself is beautiful! I first visited this place in 2012 when I was a child, and I still remember it vividly and have all the photos from that day. Naturally, I had to go back to see it again, and it was just as amazing as I remembered! The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly. The restaurant is situated in a gorgeous location, with a lovely outdoor area and a cozy indoor space. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone in Waikanae, it's truly amazing and you will be impressed!
I have no complaints about the food at this restaurant. Both my partner and I enjoyed our appetizers, main courses, and desserts, which were all delicious. The portion sizes were perfect and the service was excellent. The only downside was that we were attacked by sand flies because the door was left open on a hot summer night. Overall, we would definitely return.
