Los Tres Mex - WAIKOLOA

We really missed this place when they were closed. It's a fantastic spot! Grab a burrito and head to the beach—it turns into the perfect beachside meal. There truly aren’t any other places like it on the island. While we do explore other restaurants when we’re farther away, nothing compares to their Mexican cuisine. It’s a small venue with just a few tables, but takeout is the way to go. Don't let its size fool you; every bite is worth it. The food is amazing!

The staff was very friendly. Pair of tables inside, not a/c, but had ceiling fans. You will be offered either red or green sauce on your plate. The food was made on site so needed a few minutes to wait, but it's worth it. Portions are very delicious. My husband and I like more spicy Mexican food that this place did not offer, but flavors of dishes were good with mild to medium spices.

Mexican restaurants are my absolute favorite and this has done everything. The portion sizes are massive, the best Burrito I've ever had. This restaurant is the reason why I will cry from Hawaii on my flight home.

Tres Mex is great. It’s a small takeout-counter style family run business that makes such good food that the everyone in town wants it and the wait time can be long. It is worth it! We like the chile relleno, fish tacos, and their massive grande burritos. The best way to order IMO is by phone. They might be so busy they won’t pick up the first time, but they’ll call you back! Then just go and pick up the food in 30 minutes.

Great staff always great food! So fortunate to have them around for almost 30 years now! (Whole life) and I am still dying for the secret enchilada recipe
