The British Oak - Wakefield

We held my stepfather's wake at this restaurant and they were incredibly accommodating. It was a last-minute booking because of my mom's dementia and her initial reluctance for a wake, but they were very helpful. Service: 5/5.

Just moved into the area. First visit tonight. Really friendly, clean...indoors and outdoors. Service was really good. Got a bit chilly when the sun went in, lovely guy (bar staff/management?? brought me a blanket!! Can't ask for much more than that can you? Will def be a regular visitor! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was pleased to see a clean pub that was starting to get busier as the afternoon progressed. It could become a new favorite spot for locals. Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3.

The local pub has always been friendly and continues to be under new ownership. There is a wide selection of drinks available, including real ales. I did not try the food, so I cannot comment on that. They offer entertainment on Saturday nights. The price per person is between £1 and £10. The service and atmosphere both receive a rating of 5 stars.
