Easy to find with plenty of parking. Has a real welcoming feeling. Staff made our dining experience feel like we were family. Forgot to take pics of our Liver Onions with Collards and Potato salad, Famous Fried Chicken with Green Beans Mashed Potatoes w/ Brown Gravy but believe me, it was very tasty down home cooking. Desserts were great as well. The Peanut Pie (pecan but with peanuts) surprisingly very good. The Apple Pie was outstanding as well. Free peanut samples too. Their roast is a bit different and provides a crisper crunch which I really liked.
This is the second time I have stopped here to eat. The first time, we had the buffet and way before I was participating in Google Reviews. From what I remember, the buffet was excellent. This stop the cheese burgers we ordered looked great but were not delicious at all. Not fresh (frozen patty) and tatsed weird. I could not finish mine. The service was top notch! The establishment was clean and comfortable.
It’s a famous diner that everyone knows. Came on Sunday for lunch there are a lot of people dining after church. There’s a store front selling Virginia peanut products and the back is the restaurant, quite large space nothing fancy just a typical diner set up. There’s buffet option and also a la cart, buffet has a lot of options as well I would go for buffet next time as it has less wait time. Good selections from a la cart menu, and they made to order so it took a while if you have time to wait. The portion of the food are huge. None of us could finish what we ordered. Food is delicious. Service was slow, we were not given straws and nowhere to find our waitress.
Welcoming diner. Plenty of parking even with a camper. Service was pretty good. Biscuits and gravy was good. Big, fluffy biscuits and hot gravy. Potatoes were old and cold. : They need to know how to scramble an egg. : Hubby got fried eggs, and were really good. Ham is always delish. Grits had zero seasoning, and were so watery. Literally like they added water to done grits. : Tea and coffee were both good. Got peanut pie to go. Staff were really nice. restrooms were clean.
