Red Tails Ocean Grille - Waldorf

My wife and I had dinner there on Friday and ordered a takeout of the same meal on Saturday. We enjoyed getting out and listening to the dj, and the service was great. I had the jerked lamb chops over jasmine rice with honey zing salmon nuggets for starters. My wife had the grilled teriyaki salmon over jasmine rice with cauliflower wings/honey old bay sauce for starters. The food at this restaurant was delicious, but the service left much to be desired. Despite having reservations for my birthday, we were initially told that there was a party and no reservations should have been accepted online. After some discussion, we were eventually allowed to stay, but were seated in a corner under a speaker. The music, however, was great. After paying our bill, which was quite expensive, we were asked to leave to make room for more party attendees. I had to put my drink in a to-go cup and we didn't have a chance to order dessert. When we called to complain, the restaurant denied what had happened and only offered us a drink or dessert on a future visit. This experience really ruined my birthday, as good food does not make up for bad service. I would rate the service a 1, the food a 5, and the atmosphere a 5. Some recommended dishes include the Salmon Bites, Jambalaya, Calamari, Honey Old Bay Wings, Online Deviled Eggs, Crab Dip, Seafood Platter, and Seafood. There is plenty of parking available, with a free parking lot offered as an option.

Today was quite the day to visit this restaurant! I arrived on a day that wasn't too busy, but the staff seemed to be in a bit of a frenzy. They were friendly, but a little absent-minded, as if they were experts at walking past you and then doing a double-take. We all have those moments, right? Unfortunately, most of the best seats were reserved online, so seating was a bit limited. The bartender was clearly overwhelmed, but the manager eventually got us settled after a 25-minute wait. The food arrived quickly after we ordered, and overall it was pretty good. I enjoyed the Grand Marnier French toast, even though the home fries were slightly burnt. They forgot my extra bacon, but for the price, I wasn't too bothered. The breakfast sandwiches and fries were also tasty. The drinks were great too. Despite some hiccups, I may consider returning for another Sunday brunch. Overall, the food was a 5, service a 4, and atmosphere a 4. There was plenty of parking available in a free parking lot.
