Whenever we go,except for one time, they have always just run out of biscuits and gravy. It seems like common sense to make more on the weekends because you are always running out! Apparently not to them. Most of the breakfast meals include biscuits and gravy!!!! When I ordered the breakfast sampler, they wouldn't substitute the biscuits and gravy for something else even though it was their fault they ran out. They waitress even called her boss to see if they could substitute. NOPE!!! It cost me more than what it should've and we couldn't even get what we came there for...Biscuits and gravy!!! And on top of that, I asked for extra crisp bacon. One was crisp and the other 3 pieces were half raw. They lost customers today. I will drive the extra miles to get decent food. I'm going to The Boss' Place from now on. Their food is awesome! This place sucks.
My omelet came with burnt sausage onions, green peppers and tomatoes. My potatoes were burnt as well. And even though everything was burnt it came to our table cold. Plus it also came with mushrooms in it. I am alergic to mushrooms and certainly did not order them in the build your own omelet. Service was terrible and sometimes just plain rude. They never offered to make it right and then the manager accused me of not telling the waitress I was unhappy with my food. One person at our table never even got her food. The manager is not equipped to run a restaurant and has no idea that when you treat people as rudely as she does they don't come back. And they tell everyone they know about their experience and before you know it your out of business. This is a small town. People talk, word travels quickly.
The food is excellent and the service is acceptable. If you like being surprised by random food and trying new things every time, then this is the place for you. I have been here 5 times and ordered a gluten free double bacon cheeseburger with everything on it all 5 times. I still have not found out what that tastes like. My table mates and I have never received what we order. I usually end up with a different kind of burger or the toppings are wrong or the sides are wrong. Once we even got orders from another table mixed in with ours. I'm allergic to wheat, that's why I get the gluten free bun. Twice I have gotten a regular bun and had to have it switched out. The only reason we keep going back is because the food is good and we're hoping they'll get their act together and start getting orders right.
I enjoy dining at this restaurant as it is conveniently located near my home and offers good value. However, I have been let down by the service during my last two visits. It was disappointing to have such slow and unhappy servers on a Sunday morning, and it was surprising to find out that they had run out of biscuits and gravy even before the church crowd arrived. As someone with experience in the restaurant industry, I am concerned that this could lead to a loss of customers for the establishment. Given that you have a strong presence in Walkerton, I believe you have the potential to provide a much better experience. I urge you to take these issues seriously and address them promptly before it impacts your business negatively.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I will definitely return.
