Great eating in very beautiful ambiente. small but very fine card. there are even biobiers. tasty weeping open. small restaurant with a lot of charm in great very tastefully decorated small old town house. happy again!
In the middle of the old part of Walluf up the stairs in a medieval house the restaurant seats some two dozen people maximum in a nice cozy ambiance. The service was remarkably good. The choice of local wines is very good and the menu card can satisfy everybody. However a glass of wine is as expensive as the the whole bottle purchased at the local winegrower´s place. The main dishes are in the upper price range and the portions do not cope with the price level. Especially since the food was not at all on the steaming side, the medium rare meat was well done. Probably the small kitchen was overcharged. As I said the experience was ambivalent.
Treppchen is a tiny restaurant in Rhinegau village Walluf. Located in an old, quaint village house you would not expect to find such exquisite cuisine inside. The chef used to cook for the head of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt before relocating to Walluf. The cuisine is mainly German but cooked in a modern and innovative way. Lovely fish dishes and the soups and salads are fantastic. Also a good variety of local and international wines.
