Ihop - Walnut Creek

My girlfriend and I recently visited for a breakfast/dinner meal, and our waitress was incredibly sweet to us. There was a minor altercation when a man tried to create some trouble over something trivial, but one of the staff members kindly escorted him outside to sort things out. It turned out to be quite the entertainment! We genuinely had a fantastic time. I highly recommend trying the apple pecan thick French toast—it's surprisingly underrated!

If I could give a lower rating, I would. When I walked in, I was informed that my order was being prepared, but after 20 minutes, everyone who arrived after me received their meals. Eventually, they checked in with me only to say they didn’t have my items and made me wait again with no apologies. This was the worst experience I’ve had, and the communication was terrible. They weren't even busy; there were only five customers in the place.

The prices are quite reasonable—only $9 for the roast turkey due to a dinner discount (usually $15-17), and the food was really good. I also got a complimentary short stack (valued at $8) by using my pancoins from the rewards program. I wish they offered more syrup varieties at the table instead of just the classic option, but overall, it was a nice experience.

We placed an online order and arrived within 15 minutes. However, when we got there, there was only one woman working, and it took her another 15 minutes to assist us. We then waited an entire hour for what was not a large order and ultimately decided to leave in frustration. The service was disappointing; IHOP should consider closing the store if they can't staff it properly.

This is officially my favorite IHOP! They really provide gluten-free options, which is a big plus. The staff are super friendly, and Jerry is an absolute joy! Additionally, there are no unpleasant sewer smells, making for a much more enjoyable experience. It's wonderful to visit an IHOP without the concern of getting sick!
