La Fontaine Walnut Creek

We chose La Fontaine after searching OpenTable for great food and a pleasant atmosphere, and it did not disappoint. Since we were celebrating my husband's birthday, we wanted a special place for the occasion. The Bruschetta appetizer was exceptional, featuring burrata cheese and prosciutto. Our beet salads were excellent as well, topped with greens, goat cheese, sliced almonds, and a light lemon dressing. For the main course, my husband ordered the Beef Wellington, which he said could be cut with a butter knife. I opted for their housemade pappardelle with prawns in a delicious tomato broth. For dessert, we shared a profiterole filled with vanilla gelato and drizzled with chocolate sauce, which was outstanding. Our server, Michaela, was delightful, attentive, and made a fantastic cosmopolitan. Overall, it was a perfect evening.

Great service and food was great. Ambiance was nice. The only downfall is if you are sitting close to the front doors you get a draft. Some kind of drapes to block entrance would be nice.
