It's so bright inside and especially at the bar. Those lights on the ceiling are not supposed to be used when the restaurant is open. Those are lights for the cleaning crew. Who the hell wants to eat with spot lights shining down on them. Going out to eat should be enjoyable, with soft and flattering lighting. I just wish the owners could go back in time to the 1970's and see how a Chinese restaurant should be lit. Go to the hardware store and buy a few dimmers, couldn't cost more than $100. Use them and people will come for dinner, spend money on drinks, etc. I mostly see an empty dining room on Friday nights. The food is excellent and at reasonable prices. The drinks are strong and tasty. This place should be packed every night with a line out the door. Take my advise and LOWER THE LIGHTS! BEST SPARERIBS ON THE BONE EVER!
A good selection and fairly priced lunch buffett is what keeps bringing me back over and over as I go back and forth between clients around noon time. The staff is very welcoming and have you seated within seconds of coming through the door. These are all important things when you're on a tight time schedule to get filled up and back out on the road as quickly as possible. They have your super American types of dishes but they also have some fun ones like salt/pepper squid along with a decent collection of sushi offerings. I believe that you can also get soup with the buffet, although I've never tried it. My only minor complaint is that there are far too many fried options, at least 6-7 offered each time I've been in there. It's located in a strip mall so don't let that scare you away, at least there is ample parking to be found at all times. Nothing here will blow you away but it also won't make you sick. Save room for ice cream at the end, it's hidden in the freezer that nobody opens near the pay counter. I love this place for the value, attentiveness and easy access from Rt 1/95.
This was a favorite spot of ours, specifically due to one dish. Everything else is mediocre, but still worth it. That's the only reason for the second star. My biggest gripe about this restaurant is that they don't seem to care anymore. I always call for a pick up and generally are there within the time frame. Twice I've been early, roughly 10-15 mins after my call. The person running the front did not notice me or another person picking up the food for about 10 minutes. I called the number and she told us that she was busy. I shrugged it off, it happens. The second time was roughly the same, but I was staring at her this this time and my bag of food was sitting there. I didn't think it was mine because I ordered only 15 mins ago. She was sitting down, ignoring everything. She was eating. My call finally went through. She told that she had seen me and I asked why she let me wait 15 minutes then? She didn't say anything. Just walked away, rang up my card and said bye. Haven't been there since. Wont be back for a while.
Quality dropped. Ordered meat stir fries. Take out is very disappointing. Full of vegetables and water... Only found 5 pieces of meat in the take out box. The egg rolls are totally cabbage only, no meat in them. I believe the owner changed the chief. We called the manager, refused to refund the payment. We called the credit card company, I guess calling for dispute the transaction is the only way to solve the problem. I had diarrhea the next day. Do not recommend this place at all.
Excellent lunch buffet. Their Kung Pao HAS the whole peppers in it. To me, thats life or death. My little trick, to get all the good stuff: skip all the nice rice noodles so you have room for the more exotic items without getting full too fast. And if they have anything American, like mac cheese or pizza, of COURSE for gods sake never get that. Thank You! JaMES s, Sharon. For telling me to think EEEEEL when I get there. Thats 1 of the cooked ones; you cant get sick, its a delicacy. I didnt see it when I was there; next time I'll look more. I had not looked over the sushi very closely although I remember taking a couple good ones. AND Mr S also feels that they flip you a check when they figure youve had enough before it cuts them out of profitability. Interesting. That may have happened to me once but I didnt really notice much because I was getting full anyway so they may have had correct judgement, but they DID toss me a check before I asked for one... Any friend of EEL, who capitalizes it, is a friend of mine! LOL!
