Back in Cusco and after doing the classic Inca Trail, my clients were asking me Where to eat ceviche in Cusco?...without a doubt I took them to Las Machitas, where we enjoyed ceviche and chicharron de calamar. Everybody was satisfied, the service is really good and the atmosphere is nice, considering that the place is mostly for local people, but I needed to show this hidden place to my friends of USA.
This restaurant has one of the most authentic ceviche de pescado arroz con mariscos (seafood rice) in town. They cook in the traditional way serve in good presentation. Local people come here for family weekend lunch! Order the 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 options on the last page of the menu so you can taste different type of Peruvian seafood.
We came by for a really late lunch and were really hungry, which is probably why we were able to finish 1 of 2 of our entrees. They were so big! We got a tacu tacu, which was delicious, and a seafood chowder, which was not as good. The seafood may have been overcooked as the texture and taste were off. If we had more time in Cusco, we would have come back to try other items on the menu.
Damn goood ceviche, the locals eat here! and don't be shy to try the Tiger milk ceviche, gets you pumped up!
