Credit...cards are not accepted, which seems unusual for a device that considers itself as being.”a section above normal. the greatest failure of this facility, after our opinion, was the poor front person in the form of their maître d’, which from our arrival and a non-existent greeting, to their sophisticated table service seemed to show that the annoyingness of guests in their restaurant was a particularly involuntary irritant! it is always regrettable to see an otherwise functional f
It is amazing that in the landscape, one of the best food variety has found its niche and market. if you consistently eat as creative art structure, always taste great,.plus offers service is so friendly, fun, welcome and professional....well you are going to...get people to come back and spread the word. the outdoor garden is very romantic for special settings and the atmosphere in the open and picturesque.
This is not a standard landgasthof as they still find in the busy streets, it is in a small village right in front of the city boundaries of cheeks. the short drive is worth it! years ago the family of the cook bought the former simple...Eatery for local farmers and transformed them into renewed delight. the rooms have a wonderful atmosphere, the terrace offers quiet seats in summer. the proof of the good kitchen are several awards in the lobby and the prices for the pre-door menus are steep (starter above the net etc. and I had high expectations, a reservation for a business lunch. cuisine is modern paired with some Asian and experimental touches, but especially with local fresh ingredients (except the garnelen my seafood salad were some kings garne and garnel mixed with comminuted cocumber etc. I had expected even more mediteran touch. the fish with spinach and kartoffels was a bit of micro-food and tasteless. other of our group were happy, even not enthusiastic about their choice. the big surprise was at check-out: they do not accept credit cards when I said that is a pitty that the dame waiter reacted in very rude way: they told me that it is not necessary for all their guests to be satisfied with cash or German debit cards. This isnot a standard "Landgasthof" as you might still find in next to busy streets - it's in a small village just outside the city borders of Wangen. The short drive is worth to do!10 years ago the cook's family bought the former simple eatery for local farmers and converted it to renewed glory. The 2 guestrooms have a wonderful atmosphere, the terrace offers quiet sittings in summer. The proof of good cuisine are several awards presented in the lobby and front door - menu prices are steep (starters above 13€, mains 22-35€ etc.) and I had high expectations making a reservation for a business lunch.Cuisine is modern paired with some Asian and experimental touches but mainly with local fresh ingredients (except the shirmp)- my seafood salad were some king prawns and shrimp mixed with shreddered cocumber etc. - I expected some more mediteranian touch. The fish with spinach and potatoes was a bit micro-food and tasteless. Other's of our group were happy even not excited about their choices. The big surprise was at check-out: they don't accept creditcards - when I said "that's a pitty" the lady waiter reacted in a very rude way: she told me that it isn't needed - all their guests are happy with cash or German debitcards. When I replied that this belongs 2013 to service standard and their steep prices would definetly allow to accept in some cases (e.g. business lunch, forgeigners) she asked her husband to be involved. He told me they cannot afford the 3,5% fees - they cannot add the 3,5% to the prices as then everybody needs to pay and they'd loose customers...WTH? This is Germany real countryside, they haven't yet arrived in global world - and service culture in Germany means that "customer is guilty"....
