The Chinook Room is the expensive restaurant and the Warm Springs Grill is kind of an upscale snack bar more , part of the hotel lobby. Having said that, we did eat at both places. The food was good at both places, but the ambiance and view in the Chinook Room were off the charts. Of course, we were the only diners at the time we ate and so had that magnificent panorama of mystical hills, sun and clouds through the wall to wall windows all to ourselves. Our server, Matthew, was fascinating and attentive and let himself get dragged into our deep philosophical discussion always a plus for a waiter. As mentioned, the food was wonderful and the cocktails were great. Granted it was expensive, but it was worth it. We had an early anniversary celebration, a magical experience and hopefully it will be the first of many celebrations at Kah Nee Tah.
It doesn't appear that much effort is being made here. Below average bar food served in an uninspired setting.
This place has gone down hill bad. The time that it takes to get someone to seat you takes about 10-20 minutes. Then when you are seated you are told that they don't have enough menu's so the table has to split the only one they could get you. The alcoholic drinks are a waste of money, don't even bother ordering. You might as well order a virgin cocktail, because that is all you are going to get for $10. The food is bar type food that is mediocre at best. The prices though would have you think you are eating at a more upscale restaurant. Heck, Burger King is more upscale then this place. Used to have great food here, and it was worth something. If you could order one thing, let it be the fry bread, everything else is not worth the wait, or your hard earned money.
We ordered buffalo wings, steak salad, a meat and cheese platter, kids' spaghetti, and a bison burger. Although the food was acceptable, it fell short of what we expected from a resort of this caliber. Our waiter seemed unhappy and was noticeably irritated by even the simplest requests. For instance, when our appetizer (the buffalo wings) arrived, we received a tiny container of blue cheese. Considering we ordered a double portion of wings, we expected more of the condiment to be provided. When we asked for additional dressing, the waiter’s irritation was palpable. We would have happily paid for extras if needed, but the waiter’s lack of courtesy left much to be desired. On a positive note, the bison burger was like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. Despite its open-faced presentation—which initially confused my son, who thought one of the buns was missing—the burger was absolutely delicious. When he asked the waiter how to eat it, the waiter’s annoyed expression suggested he found the question foolish. Ultimately, we figured out that the burger was meant to be folded in half. In contrast, the steak salad was a disappointment, consisting of nothing more than wilted greens and three thin slices of low-quality steak. I was not impressed. My daughter ordered the cheese and tomato pasta from the children's menu, which looked like something straight out of a can of SpaghettiOs and contained barely enough noodles to be substantial. Overall, the restaurant’s service is an area in desperate need of improvement.
Dinner at the Chinook Room at Warm Springs Lodge was delightful. We all chose different dishes: halibut, steak, pasta, and a filet. Everything was absolutely amazing!
