I had the catfish served with mac and cheese, green beans, and a waffle, and it was all absolutely delicious! The catfish was fried to perfection, and the unexpected sweetness of the waffle was a delightful surprise. Everything was seasoned just right and served piping hot. The prices are quite reasonable considering the generous portions. Unlike other places, we didn't have to wait long for our food. The lady at the front counter was very friendly, both on the phone and in person. I really appreciated the restaurant's simple yet clean atmosphere!

The food is consistently fresh and skillfully prepared, making it one of my top choices for soul food. I especially enjoy the catfish dinner, which is served with mac and cheese, corn, and collard greens.

This is the best soul food I’ve had in years. If my mom were still here, she would definitely be ordering from this place every day after her dialysis appointments, which happen to be just a few blocks away from Alani’s – a pleasant surprise for us! The catfish has a perfectly crispy cornmeal crust, and the sides, especially the candied yams, are outstanding.

The food is very good. I was a little disappointed there was no catfish. I got the greens the mac and cheese and two types of wings. When I started on the greens I'm thinking OK its just plain, and then the heat snuck up on me not a lot but just enough and it was fabulous. The barbecue sauce on the wings was delicious. Next time I'll have to try the ribs and the catfish.

The other reviews mad me give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed!!! Mac-n-chesse was some of the best I ever had, chicken and the dressing were delicious also. I ate it all! The young lady was very friendly and polite. Call ahead if you don’t want to wait bc the chicken was cooked fresh (not a bad thing) but I will definitely come back!
