Zambrero - Warrnambool

Had a late lunch at Zambrero !! We had not eaten at Zambreros but basically ordered is similar to subway. Start with a tortilla/bowl and create your own. Staff are friendly and the shop has a nice feel. The food is very good you can even purchase an alcoholic drink with your meal ! They promote "Zambrero is Mexican with a mission" by offering a "plate 4 plate" system. For every burrito or bowl a customer purchases a plate of food is donated to someone in need. Nice idea ! They are still expanding their business, so I look forward to seeing them closer to my home !

Got take away lunch from Zambrero, two burrito bowls and one burrito. It was tasty enough, but for the price I thought it was a bit miserly with the portions. They use ice cream scoops for lots of the items, and there are lots of extra price add ons. Black rice extra, guacamole extra, corn salsa extra !!! Also they offer separate tomato salsa, red onion and corn, but literally the tomato added to our dishes was a about 5 pieces of tomato chopped into one centimetre squares, it was miserable. We wondered why they bothered to put it on. Same with onion and corn. Lots of lettuce though!! It is a good idea, but they need to be a little more generous with some of the low cost ingredients.

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was tasty, and the establishment was clean and tidy. Highly recommended

This was a waste of my money! Nachos were cold no cheese was even melted and when we took it back to be reheated it still was unmelted mess, no apology no refund bad service!Then the burritos oh I could be sick talking about it, one arcing thrown on a heating machine, claggy rice, onion tasted like soap and the bean was yuk thick paste! It was stone cold and pastety!The service was shocking too 3 staff and we stood waiting one other customer in the place. Also walked past the next day and staff were looking out window chatting and laughing at people walking past! I would rate this zero if I could!

Great place to sit down or take away, it does not have table service, but you choose what you want in your dishes . Indoor seating and great courtyard out the back - weather permitting. Located in Warrnambool's main street at the restaurant end.
