Brasserie Beck - Washington

The food was excellent, but when I ordered an Oktoberfest beer from Virginia, they mistakenly served me a peach beer from Belgium. While mistakes happen, I was surprised when the staff tried to convince me that what I received was the same thing I had ordered, claiming that many people often confuse Belgian beers. The food and atmosphere were great, but I’ve never been spoken to in such a condescending manner, and there wasn't even an attempt to rectify the situation.

My wife and I visited this restaurant early in our relationship, and we’ve been returning for the past 12 years. The mussels are some of the best in town, and the steak tartare is exceptional as well. They also have a knack for crafting great cocktails and offer a wide selection of beers.

What a fantastic meal! The duck was incredibly tasty, and the oysters were equally amazing. The highlight, however, was the extensive selection of Belgian beers. It was so much fun to sample so many different varieties!

Sit at their outside patio or inside, Brasserie Beck has been a staple for mussels and Belgian cuisine for years. The beer list reads like a short novel and shouldn?t be missed. We ate here recently for the first time in years and the food (mussels, burger and frites, and chilled beers) was all solid, though perhaps a bit below its pre-pandemic levels. Service was exceptional.

Great place for Belgian beer and mussels and frites. There are four types of mussels on the menu and the frites come with three different Mayo based dipping sauces. They also sometimes have happy hours specific to certain beer companies. And they know a lot about beer. Nice that it's open now since it was closed for the pandemic. They have a really large patio without outdoor seating.
