A display counter with cakes, cookies, pastries and bread is right near the door if you are looking to get something to go. I opted to sit at a table and order some breakfast. The menu has a variety of savory options, like omelets, and sweet ones, like their French Toast. I opted for the basic one made with challah bread and served with Bavarian cream on the side. For those in a hungrier mode the chocolate banana one looked very tempting as well! I washed down my french toast with a nice cup of cappuccino. This cafe also has some fine looking sandwiches and tarts (open faced sandwiched) for lunch. The service was fine – I didn’t feel rushed while having my meal. They do have highchairs, so feel free to bring your little one. If the weather is nice you can take advantage of the patio seating. All in a nice place to keep in your roster for breakfast and lunch. Next time I may have to try one of those chocolate treats in the display as well!
This place used to smell like a French bakery with the best croissants and pastry. I guess the effect of COVID-19 got to it, it is no longer the same, hope it recovers soon.
We purchased a hot chocolate and a pistachio neapolitan which we shared to mixed reviews, one of us thought it was very good and the other, just OK.
I stopped by Bread and Chocolate to purchase a pastry. I was told by a colleague that the pantries were phenomenal. I purchased a rather pricey cannoli. It looked like any other cannoli. The sweet delicious creamy cheese on both ends. I couldn't wait to bite into it. Qnce I bite into it, it crumbled in the center. I was amazed to find a hollowed center. They only added a small dollop of the sweet cheese filling on both ends of the cannoli, but absolutely no filling in the center. I paid nearly $7.00 for a shell. The best part of a cannoli in my opinion is the sweet cream cheese. I was totally disappointed, and will never purchase a pastry from this establishment again.
Seven bucks for a red eye ?. Four for the (burnt) coffee and 3 for a shot of espresso. Spare me. Further, the 16 dollar chicken sandwich was thoroughly mediocre. Very polite and attentive wait staff though.
