Axum Ethiopian - Washington

Some of the best food we've ever eaten, and easily the best Ethiopian. The lentil sambusa came early and wowed our socks off with a perfect (not to oily) batter, and a lentil filling that was seasoned to make your mouth water. You see two of them in the photos because it's was so good, we had to order another, even before the other food came! The meat Combo that followed exceeded every expectation we had, with perfectly cooked meats, amazing seasoning, enjera (Ethiopian bread) that was the perfect balance of soft/spongy/sour, and spice levels that made our mouths wake up and party. We also loved the pictures in the restaurant, and the service was friendly, helpful, and attentive!

This is quite possibly the best food I've ever had. The atmosphere is nice and the guy has a very grandfatherly and friendly vibe. I love this place!!! The spices and and everything were amazing and the location is super convenient.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience, food was great, service is impeccable. Overall great vibes and ambience. Beautiful decorations with paintings from Ethiopia. Had the yebeg kikil with njera, the broth was to die for and the lamb was well seasoned and tender. Would return!!!

The food was fresh and delicious. They were very kind and attentive and helped us pick the perfect dishes. Will definitely be back!
