Happy Gyro - Washington

I absolutely adore this restaurant. If you had told me before the pandemic that one of DC's top fine dining establishments (Komi) would switch its menu to pizza, gyros, and fries and I would enjoy it, I would have thought you were crazy. But here we are. They also make and sell their own ice cream, which is incredibly tasty. It may be pricey, but nothing else can compare to the quality. Happy Gyro's menu is concise and changes often depending on what ingredients are available. The veggie gyro is outstanding, although it hasn't been available lately.

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and it will now be one of my go-to choices when I'm in town. I tried several dishes and they were all fantastic. I was particularly impressed that the Vodka sauce had a spicy kick, rather than being overly sweet. The staff members were very friendly and I highly recommend trying their ice cream. Even after 30 minutes of takeout, everything was still delicious.

We were thrilled to try the Black walnut tacos and Grandpa slice at this restaurant. I found the taco filling to be delicious with good flavor, but unfortunately, the pizza slice was overly salty and not very impressive.

Just had my first Komi experience and it was hands down the best meal I?ve had in my life. My boyfriend and I are making our way through the DC Michelin Star places and decided to try Komi for a belated Valentines dinner. Komi has been the best thus far with zero competition from the others. There?s just no comparison, and the fact that it was almost half the cost of Pineapple Pearls made it that much better.
