Tasty Drinks? I can certainly say that I found an incredible place to eat and drink at Medaterra. Maybe I just fell in love with the $1 full size margaritas, the $2 tequila shots, the $5 cosmos and martinis, the $5 full size cheeseburger and fries, the yummy humus and pita bread, or the zesty olive tray too quickly. All I know is that I had such an incredible time that I went there for lunch on Saturday, dinner on Saturday, lunch on Sunday and dinner on Sunday over the weekend while I was attending a conference at a nearby hotel. I felt so welcomed, at home and satisfied! I didn't get to eat a huge variety of entrees, but both the lamb gyro and the pasta were quite good and quite filling. The service is really amazing and the food comes fast. I have never seen a place where every single staff member will routinely check in to see if you need anything. I don't go to high priced, fine dining establishments very often, so I'm not used to receiving that kind of attention. It was nice being made feel so special without having to empty my wallet. If you want to people watch be sure to come on Saturday night. It's not a pick up, singles place, but the local young and hip stream in to patronize and present a fashion extravaganza. It seemed like all the young beautiful people were there for a dress up fun night on the town! I wish I didn't have to leave. It was that much fun. It's really THE place to go for a group of friends looking to gather and enjoy the night (or afternoon). I can't recommend Medaterra enough to anyone looking to relax and enjoy a good meal and a few drinks with others. If you come alone be sure to sit at the bar and allow one of the best Ethiopian bartenders to make you feel at home and treat you like a star VIP. All the wait and bar staff are equally friendly and helpful. They have a really good group of people working there. The proprietor has really put together an enjoyable experience. I miss it already. Go there and have fun!
Pit stop for fellow Marines and I on an impromptu sight seeing tour of DC (unceasing thanks to the Student Veterans of America Leadership Institute for invitation to experience our nation's capitol). Food was so-so, but the prices and proprietors make this a worthy option for cash strapped, steel bellied foodies. Four stars for service, $1 margaritas and volcanic spiced lamb (antacids available at the nearby CVS).
Great restaurant and the food was great. I had the lamb pita pocket and salad. They have a great hamburger and wing special as well. Our server, Keanta’e was excellent. He was attentive and accommodating. Great neighborhood hang out.
Excellent restaurant with awesome happy hour and amazing food!
Nice little place to eat not overpriced the staff was friendly. The food was good and it did come out quickly. They have a limited beer selection, but they have budget friendly margaritas. They offered free shots during our visit , and also gave us free dessert. If I was a local I would return.
