We were meeting some friends there but we hadn 't made the plans so we didn 't know how many. We were under the impression this was just a hotel bar and it wasn 't very busy, but the hostess didn 't seem comfortable seating us without a party number. My husband and I waited outside until our party came in. There were 10 of us. We were seated at a table with no chairs or hooks to hang our items despite the place being mostly empty. When we asked for a table they did oblige. The hostess kept eyeing us and didn 't have the decency to pretend to not be talking about us. The tables look cute but the chairs are not comfortable. I 'm not sure if this place is meant to be for eating dinner but the area we sat at would have been annoying to eat a meal at, IMO. The waiter was attentive and did a great job, keeping all our orders straight and helping split the checks since we had just met each other and all left at different times. The drink I had was fine, wasn 't really my style, but that isn 't on them. I didn 't have any food. While we were sitting there, I saw a mouse run under a nearby table. My party was not thrilled but it was such a pain to get in that we just decided to stay. I know the hostess saw either our reactions or the mouse itself. Later (about 20 minutes later) she came over to apologize for the rodent experience (her words) and it seemed pretty insincere to me, especially because she only apologized to me (I was the one who spotted it). At least she acknowledged the issue, but the only offer we got was to move our table. All in all it was a pretty meh experience. I would not recommend.
Ashley, Val, Malena, Dejana and Janet were so amazing! They made us feel at home, served incredibly delicious food and beverages! They all greeted us with a smile everyday!! I highly recommend the service, staff and ambiance!!
Went to DC for a night and came across this gem. staff was really nice and accommodating, dog friendly. food was well made and drinks were perfect. my boyfriend got an old fashion and i got a spicy marg. got the yuca to start, a salad and the ropa vieja. left our car at the hotel because parking is hard to find but walking distance was great! would definitely recommend to anyone visiting DC.
I like their design, it’s very hipster chic and it brings much needed atmosphere to a pretty sterile part of DC full of hotels and generic looking apartments. The outdoor courtyard is spacious and they have fun live music. They seem to be understaffed at times so sometimes it takes a while to have your order taken after being seated. I prefer the drinks here than the food. They have delicious cocktails and frozen drinks. I like the pina colada and the Kitty Claw which is a milky cocktail. The chicken was sort of over cooked and bland. I’d stick to drinks and maybe some appetizers. The croquetas were good.
My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out on a Wednesday evening. It was decorated very nicely with an array of different tables and chairs and a large bar in the center. At first, I mistook it for a hotel lobby bar and thought the restaurant was in another location. We started with the Crispy Cheesy Bites $8). Although it seemed like an awesome combination of two things I love: Brazilian cheese bread and mozzarella sticks. The taste was underwhelming. I feel that if the bites were warmer and not room temperature, the experience of eating them would be elevated.I had the Butcher's Steak $28) for my entree. It came with fries and a side salad. My steak was cooked medium rare and it was topped with chimichurri. It tasted pretty good. The steak was a bit chewy, but it was great overall. We also had the plantains two ways. Of course they were delicious as well. For my first beverage, I got the frozen piña colada. I normally love piña colada's, but this one had a strong butterscotch-like aftertaste. I traded it in for a strawberry guava daiquiri which was much better but difficult to drink with the provided paper straw.Overall I think this place is okay, but not really worth the hype. The food was fine, and there was a great overall vibe.
