Piazza Sorrento - Washington

Our server never brought any salt/pepper/cheese/pepper flakes. Had to retrieve from wait station ourselves. Food was favorful and the portions were good, but the base pasta in my sampler were all well done (sort of mushy, no “body” ... nothing near the typical al dente that I've come to expect at good Italian restaurants. Will return because one member of our group has a gluten tolerance issue, so she loves Piazza Sorrento. I can take it or leave it.

The proprietors of the inn where we stayed outside Hershey recommended Piazza Sorrento, and my wife I were very happy with the referral. The greeter our waitress Emily were very friendly and attentive. Booth seating was comfortable, interior decor was attractive without being overdone, and the noise level in the dining area allowed easy conversation. My wife ordered a cup of soup Chicken Marsala for her entree; I started with a house side salad and finished with their Grilled Salmon Spinach Risotto. Our starters were simple but well prepared, while both of our entrees were perfectly prepared flavorful with generous portions. We would definitely return to Piazza Sorrento on a future visit to the area.

Enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent. I ordered garlic shrimp and pasta. Nice, tasty dish with 6 jumbo shrimp (could have used a little more pasta). My only real complaint was that they kind of rushed out the dinners before we had finished our salads.

My wife has celiac, and the restaurant is set up for the best gluten free experience. They don't just have a few gluten free options. The hostess handed my wife a whole menu marked with a red ribbon that our waitress Christ immediately recognized. It was a full menu, giving my wife the kind of eating out experience we used to have before her diagnosis. And her salad and pizza and my (regular, non GF) Italian wedding soup and pizza were full of flavor and so good.

I have a serious gluten allergy. I put that note on my reservation and they called to review the severity and to make sure the kitchen was aware before I came. Made me feel very much at ease and the food was amazing and I did not get sick. The other 5 in our party were also very happy with their meal. Highly recommend!
