I found my lobster salad to be disappointing; I was hoping for a fresh, crisp salad with generous pieces of moist lobster, but instead, I received small, round balls that didn't really taste like lobster, served on a bed of limp, overly dressed greens. The only redeeming feature was a nice piece of avocado. On the other hand, my husband enjoyed his Chicken Scallopini, which he found delicious. There's certainly a wide variety of options to choose from.
Fabulous dining experience thanks to wonderful staff and warm and inviting dining room in which one can actually have a conversation with dinner companions. Outdoor terrace dining overlooking Garden and Glover-Archbold Park though terrace tables only accommodate two. Great bar and bartenders, nice menu featuring classic pastas, nice fish and meat options. We especially enjoyed the pork chop with polenta. Classic Italian desserts did not disappoint! I?m rating DeCarlo?s 4 stars. but I love this establishment dearly and am delighted by its recent move to The Westchester at 4000 Cathedral Avenue, NW, off Idaho Avenue in DC. Get to know the menu and you?ll have a 5-star experience. DeCarlo?s new Westchester location is serene, comfortable and elegant, with beautiful views of sweeping gardens. Ceilings are high and tables are widely spaced. In addition to two airy dining rooms, there is a small outdoor
I really hope our neighborhood gem can thrive, but their lack of attention to social media and online presence is holding them back. The food has always been delicious, making it a great spot for a relaxed, leisurely evening. While the service can be inconsistent, the staff is genuinely friendly and loyal, which speaks volumes about the owners and managers. I've never experienced any rudeness from the servers. However, at their new location, it can be difficult to find the right entrance, and Westchester doesn't provide clear directions for visitors.
Three strikes and you’re out! Each time I visited, the food was unoriginal and served lukewarm. The waitstaff appeared to recognize regular customers from their previous location and were extremely attentive to them. Other patrons echoed my sentiments, noting that newcomers are often overlooked. During my second visit, I noticed three servers chatting at the bar, and I couldn’t catch their attention until I walked over myself. The wine selection is hit-or-miss, and it seems some of the staff struggle with the Italian names.
